Post new car questions

hello everyone, I just purchased a 87 951 (Zermat Silver w/ full burgandy leather interior) with 33,000 original, one owner miles. Having been a previous 928 and a current 993 owner I have been lurking around other parts of this list for some time. I plan on using the car primarily for DE events. The previous owner (a dentist) has made a couple of modifications including Weltmeister sway bars, Bursch headers, test pipe and exhaust a K27 turbo, and an AJUSA Chip (?? I didn't even know they sold chips).

I have a couple of questions. One of my first plans is to take out the AJ chips and put in the GURU MAP stage 2. Does anyone know what the deal is with AJ chips (is it a re-market of another manufacturers chip?). Do people agree the MAP Stage 2 is the way to go? I know very little about the K27 turbo, what are its benefits and shortfalls. With the K27 should the previous owner have done something with the fuel delivery system? Any ideas and thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help

The K27 depending upon the turbine will have different characteristics. If it has the smaller #6 hotside, it shouldn't be run past 15-16psi due to the amount of backpressure. This will fight your incoming boost and negate any gains from turning up boost higher. Expect about 250-280rwhp from this turbo.

The K27 with the larger #8 hotside from the TurboS can be run up to 18-20psi boost and you'll be seeing around 350rwhp.

"and an AJUSA Chip (?? I didn't even know they sold chips)."

Me neither! If you want to send them to us, I'll draw up nice 3D charts of their maps for you. <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />
