Post Cost of ownership

I am interested in understanding the cost of ownership of a Porsche in different parts of the world. I have moved many times and it always has amazed me how much the cost of ownership changes between locations. What are your costs??

$2200? Do you have tickets or accidents? That sounds really high especially when the value of the vehicle is not that high. I pay $1300/ year full coverage $250 ded state farm for my 2000 996 cab. $600 was quoted to me for liability, injury and uninsured motorist on an 86 951.

I pay $2,600 a year. I have no tickets or accidents, but I am 18. This is for comprehensive on an '87 NA. This is 50/50/100 in Oregon.

Question: I just got Mercury Insurance and they're saying the car is only valued at $5500 (which is the max they'll reimburse me for collision), even though the car is in wonderful shape. What are some of your guys' insurance companies rating your cars at?

You can set the valve of your cars insurance. If you think it is worth more then $5500 then talk to your agent about getting the coverage you want. They might charge a little more but it will be covered for what you think it is worth.
I don't carry collision on a car that has a clear title...if I trash the car so be it.

Yeah, me too. In the last 5 years, for the differences I would have paid in the premiums, I could go out an buy two more '86 951s!
