Oil smell after boost
I'm sure this has been posted before so bear with me, I'm new <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> I find no oil leaks drips or seepage but after a few times of coming onto full boost and I stop, I can smell burning oil. It doesnt do it under normal driving and I dont smell it in the car, only when I stop after a 'spirited' run. Is this normal?
Thanks

I have a leak coming from the engine under the same conditions. The oil leaks onto the crossover pipe after a spirited run. I'll let you know after i find it where it's coming from.

Is your turbo water pump working? I'm just guessing, but if the turbo water pump fails, you're probably cooking oil in the turbo. Do you drive the car gingerly after the spirited run to let it cool down?

I have had the same problem. There may be a small oil leak from the oil line feeding into the turbo.
Have you looked inside your intercooler? There is usually a buildup of oil inside (this is normal) which should be cleaned out every other year. When you boost, this oil is drawn into the motor and burned.
Another cause is a dirty engine. Have it shampooed then search for small oil leaks that do not drip on the ground.

Check hose clamps and the hoses on the boosted side of the turbo.
I just had a case of this new oil smell. Opened up the hood and wondered where all these little oil droplets were coming from. Turns out to be I forgot to screw tight the hose clamps on the exit out of the intercooler. There was a fair amount of oil that got blown out under boost all over hot things.
And I don't consume much oil. If you are one of the cars that burns up a quart in 750 miles, that could be a lot of oil spraying out.
