Strange Track experiences re: weight
I consistently run quicker times with the spare tire, jack, tools and rear capet left IN the car. Whenever I remove all of that stuff, I run at least .5sec slower.
Any ideas?
1. Better understeer/oversteer balance
2. Better braking with more rear weight bias
3. Better acceleration/traction with rear weight
4. Other?

On your car the weight balance is better with the extra weight in the back. You probably find similar handling behavior with full/empty tank of gas. Get your car corner balanced without the spare tire and jack and you'll notice a difference.
I never liked the idea of having this stuff back there while on the track. Just one less item to worry about on impact..

The one item of value is the spare tire. It does become part of the crush zone. Having said that I admit that I don't have one. It would look a little strange in my car

Grant thanks again for the ride at the track! You guys should see Grants car, it RIPS!!! I was noticing that the rear on my car was comming out on the corners pretty easy. I think next time I go to the track I will leave the spare and such in the car.
