Autometer vs VDO boost gauges?

Has anyone tried to put a VDO or Autometer clock in place of the factory digital clock? If you did some custom work I think it would look nice but does anyone know if those clocks would fit? I know they are listed at 2 1/16" but I dont know how big the bezel is. My clock is burned out so I have been thinking about doing this so let me know what you think and if it would fit.

I really like the autometer gauges I've got. I'll have to get a better shot that shows more of the car, but this will do for now:

I like the autometer. Check my Pcar online link below to see them installed on the A-pillar.
