Post 1991 Porsche 944 Cabrio turbo Limited Edition

Hi,
I'm new to this forum, because I'm seriously thinking of buying a Porsche 944 Cabrio Turbo.
I'm currently residing in Europe, The Netherlands.
Planning on taking the train to Germany and coming back in style(Germany)

My Question to all you 944 Porsche owners, How does €20.000(euros)sounds for this car?

Mileage on the car is 121.000 km, and it has 250HP.

Also I would appreciate if you can give me an insight in terms of problems that this car might give on the run, and also about garage issues.

I'm planning to take this baby to Florida in 3 years.

this is a good German site for buying german cars. too bad it's in german, but I'm gonna give you guys the URL direct to where you would search for cars.

<a href="http://www.mobile.de/cgi-bin/search.pl?bereich=pkw&sprache=1" target="_blank">MOBIL.DE</a>

Thanks in advance

Greg

Even if the car is perfect, it sounds slightly high!?! They are rare though.

Maybe a tad high, but 952's are quite rare. Before you even consider taking it to the United States, check if you can get it certified! There are often lots of problems with bringing over european cars because of emissions and crash regulations. Find out!

According to a reputable source, they only made 525 952's. 212 of them are registered as driveable vehicles. They also cost 102,000 DMs when new. You've got a bargain

952's? Im not sure you are reffering to the correct model. I know they barely made any turbo cab's though. And since they made the s2 cabbie over here, Im sure it wouldn't be extremely difficult to get it registered.

I think they made around 800 of those cars. shouldn't be too tough to certify. many people have done this with the 1994 and 95 bmw m5's. should try to contact them. Sounds like a pretty fair price, ~$17.5 for a 75K mile car is considering the rarity, federalizing cost will hurt possibly. I would love to have one of these one day too.

952's are RHD? The owner I know lives in Europe, and says 952's are 951 cabriolets. Could just be his model is a RHD.

Some people also refer to the 944 Turbo S as a 952, and I believe it has something to do w/the engine #'s ending in a "2" or something, but not sure??? I have also seen pictures (online) of 951 convertibles in this country- I have no idea how they actually got here, as some people contend that some actually were imported brand new, but I have no idea if that's true or not, nor do I know if they are RHD or LHD- the pics I've seen were exterior and not close enough to tell. At any rate, I've ALWAYS wanted to take a 944 S2 cab, OR, 968 cab (either one being M030 spec) and turbocharge it- especially if the 16v head could be used- I had read long ago that it was very difficult to seal the 16v head under boost situations- maybe that has to do w/the cooling???
