It sure is good to know that there are some Phoenix/AZ 951-ers out there, since I am moving before the end of the summer. Just waiting for my wife to figure out which hospital she is going to work at.

I hope to meet some of you (and twist your arms to help me rebuild my engine) after I move.

"B and B exhaust, which according to the dyno is costing me around 14hp@4K"

Really ?@!?? Compared to what? A straight-through exhaust?

Roughly how many commas and zeros were involved on the check?

Hey Paul,
Were you talking about June 8th or June 1st for the Auto X? If it's the 8th I'll try to make it... I don't live too far from Firebird, I just need to find a ride there. My neighbor might be running that night with his stock black WRX as well!! Maybe I can hitch a ride with him.

Congratulations Paul, it sounds like you've built quite the beast! I'm only at 382rwhp (dynojet) right now, still need a bit more tuning to clear the 400 mark.

I can pull on both the 450hp and the 460hp ACR Vipers from a roll... slowly, but still pulling. I get killed off the line though, took my car to a drag strip and all I could do was a 13.2@109.8mph. It was a really humid day, with altitude correction at 5000ft (12.4@117.1 corrected). My car refuses to launch off the line! I either get grip, then bog at 3000rpm, or I get crazy wheelspin in 1st once the turbo spools up. The 951 is definately NOT a drag car! My best 60ft time was 2.344 seconds. Civics are getting 1.9's with drag slicks.

Curious how your low end torque is on your setup? I get nothing until at least 3600rpm when the turbo starts to spool up, full boost by 4000rpm. I don't think there's a fix for me other than bigger displacement (2.82L here I come!)

HOW are you launching it? I know that if you just "dump" it, you'll either bogg or spin. BUT I have had LOTS of luck "feathering" out the clutch from 3,5k rpms. Perfect launch everytime <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I have 335/18's on the rear. It was at least 109 +/- degrees out where we ran. Same with the day it was dyno'd. Spool-up wasn't the best at that temp?? I haven't gotten used to the power yet, so I'm not sure about the full boost question. I am changing the exhaust. The other exhaust set-up produced 14hp at 4K plus faster spool-up the top was about the same.

Feathering the clutch doesn't work very well, it'll grip and bog, unless I slip the clutch all the way to around 4500rpm, in which case you get an awesome 1st gear launch, but the clutch gets so hot it slips in 3rd. My Power meter recorded a best 0-60 time of, get this, 5.7 seconds! The average was around 6.0 seconds hehe.

I think it's a combination of a lightened flywheel along with the Cup Clutch. But yea, the car is a bitch to launch. Once it gets going though, look out! =)
