Aftermarket boost guage readings vs. stock guage?

I just installed an Autometer boost guage this evening and everything works fine.
However, the autometer guage shows I'm running maximum boost of 0,6 bar and at the same time the stock guage shows I'm running 0,8+ bar!
Could it be that my wastegate spring is very weak? I have basically no turbolag at all. Even with my mods my friends stock Turbo S pulls harder when it hits boost. Our cars have about equal acceleration.
Ideas!?

1. Don't trust the stock gauge. If your new gauge is hooked up and without leaks....trust it. I have the autometer as well, because my stock gauge was all over the place.
2. You didn't list mods, but it seems like a lot of people pour money into mods and don't replace the stock wastegate which begins to bleed at 3psi.
How much boost are you holding? The turbo s holds higher boost than a non s. You both may have the same peak pressure, but a non s will fall off where a turbo s should hold.

Sorry Duke
I was reading from the bottom of the 'reply page' and it cuts off the footer. With your mods your boost should be hitting sooner than your friends and if you have no leaks in the system, i would lean toward the wastegate. My car is basically stock and I replaced the wastegate with a Tial. It made a world of difference, even running stock boost(i still have stock chips).

Is the Tial dual port? Who has it for the best price?
What are pros/cons of Tial vs. Deltagate? <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
