Question Engine?#2 RB

Hello! I building My engine and the machine shop mention about install some dial pin in the RB cup and this maybe help on the RB trouble?
Anybody heard this ?
Please help...

A dowl pin? They use them to help locate the bearing and keep it from spinning. The problem is the bearing getting beat to peices from detonation. The fix seems to be getting the intake flowed correctly. I DO NOT speak from experience, I learned this here and plan for intake work on my car. Good luck

Hmmm, I doubt that would help much with the rod-bearing problem, which is most likely a lubrication issue, not staking the bearing in place. What could use a locating dowel is the main crank girdle which is missing one in front.
