Can anyone recommend a worthwhile plastic polish? I would like to remove the tiny scratches in the clear oval piece covering the gauges. When the sun hits it, it looks terrible + I can't see the gauges.

I can't take credit for this idea because someone else on the board was the first to mention it but...
Pledge furniture polish.
I tried it and, shockingly, it works.

Nothing compares to getting a new lens!! My car's prior driver was a smoker, so rather than trying to clean that filthy sum-bitch, I just got a new one. You will NOT regret it!!

Called GE, who makes Lexan, the plastic in VDO clusters, after pulling my BMW E30 cluster for a bad tach and scratching it.
GE said to use Meguires #17 plastic polish.
I use it on the car's plastic -- it removes scratches up to about 3, maybe 4, on a 1-10 scale, and it's the hot setup for CDs and polycarbonate lenses for your eyeglasses, too.
