Post Turbo Oil Vent Hose

I've wondered what this is for a long time. Why is there is a hose from the driver side engine support bracket to the side of the oil/air separator? PET & the parts catalog call it a vent line. It appears to get full oil pressure & empty's it into the OAS. My first guess is it there to help remove air from the turbo oil feed...except it's after the turbo feed??? Thanks.

I believe that the vent line you mentioned is just to allow air to flow ~into~ the turbo oil return line. Recall that the oil flows through a relatively large diameter (2-3 cm) flexible metal hose down to the oil pan.

An analogy would be vent lines installed in the plumbing in your house. Without these vent lines, the water would not flow smoothly down the drains because of the pressure difference.
