Post Anybody else's cars run really bad when cold?

Lately my car has been terrible when cold except when the boost comes on. It hasn't been running the best on motor either though. When on decel it's popping alot and just seems a little rough. Any suggestions?

Check your AFM and verify that its voltage-response curve is within the correct stock specifications. The popping would indicate some mis-matched chip-mapping to actual flow conditions. Although this would occur with the AFM being out of spec. as well.

Also the cold-temp operation would tend to point a finger at either the engine-temp or air-temp sensor, or both.

Most likely the problem is the 3-bar FPR which I don't think those chips were programmed for. Put the stock 2.5-bar FPR in as a test to see if the car runs better (betcha it will) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> .

car has ran really well until recently this started out of the blue the 3 bar was previous owner installed. Danno, I emailed you about some new chips today. I picked a coolant sensor at Pace Kettler today when I returned their timing belt toll. I'll stick it in tommorrow and see if it helps

There is a procedure to check both the air and engine temp sensor, no need to shoot gun the problem.
