weird break pads wear

I changed the front brake pads less than 200 miles ago and my mechanic says that the right side pad is 50% worn. How is that possible? Bad pads? or brake problems?

I would say worn/bad rotors. Get them turned or just buy new ones. Get some other then advanced auto pads like metalmasters or something too. I would also bleed your brakes as well.
