'86 951 stock radio question...
When I turn my stock cd player radio on, it simply says "OFF" on the lcd display.
Supposedly, when this type of radio is removed from the car, it shuts itself down (anti-theft function). Upon re-installing it in the car, the radio should say "CODE" at which point you enter a 5 digit code.
My radio WAS removed by the previous owner, and then he tried to install it when selling it to me. Apparantly, if the incorrect code is entered, the radio will display "OFF" (like mine is now) for a period of 24 hours, and then go back to saying "CODE" so the correct code could be entered.
Anyways, I can't get my radio to say CODE. I have the code to enter into the thing, it just wont let me do it!
Anyone know a fix for this (besides getting a new radio/cd player )?
Thanks in advance

Chas,
Did you try disconnecting the battery and/or pulling the power wire from the radio itself. Should reset everything, then you can put in the code.
BTW: I got new wheels for my turbo. Fikse FM10's, they are pretty nice

Hey Mike,
Yeah I know I had the radio completely disconnected. I'm not sure if it was more than for a few minutes (if time even makes a difference). I'll try pulling it out and leaving it out for a while, as well as disconnecting + from the battery for a bit. Hopefully that will work...
