Post mechanical oil pressure gauge install?

Since my oil pressure gauge has been acting funny lately I thought I would install a mechanical gauge in the compartment under the radio. What is the best way to do this? I assume I need a pressure fitting of some kind. Do I have to get this fitting custom made? Or can I purchase one already made for our cars? Thanks in advance.

I don't know that I would put a mechanical gauge in the car. You could use an electrical gauge. You'll need an adapter to thread into the hole for the sending unit.

I found a plug with an 1/8" female pipe thread which accepted a sending unit for an Autometer electric oil pressure gauge.

I don't care for the idea of plumbing a line into my car with pressurized oil.

Use a electric meter instead of a mechanical. If you get a leak under the dashboard You regret that you didn´t installed a electric.

Alan-

Do you have any details about the sender you used? I see this being a long trial and error thing
