Wiring faults. Don't forget the easy stuff!
So twice now I've chased down issues with my tail lights. First time was the brake lights, today it was the left rear turn indicator.
Both times I checked the fuse first, which was intact, then tore into the wiring in the back.
Both times all the wiring in the back has been perfect, but no power getting to the wiring in the back. Both times I was pissed because I then assumed I had a wiring break somewhere between the front of the car and the back.
Both times I decided to just replace the fuse as a "WTF do I have to lose, even though it looks fine and tests fine sort of thing."
BOTH times replacing the fuse fixed the problem!
I'm totally dumbfounded, as the old fuses looked fine and tested fine, but clearly weren't working fine. Yes, I did remove them and plug them back in to make sure they were making proper contact.
Strange, but I am happy I didn't have to rip into the wiring looking for a break...
