Been a lurker on this site for a long time. Finally sold my '86 944NA beater for $5500 on eBay and picked up a cherry '86 951.
In terms of a no questions asked sale, I highly recommend eBay (use the buy-it-now option to facilitate a quick sale to the impulse inclined)
The new baby has 70K miles, all maintenance at scheduled intervals, fanatical prior owner. No crashes, only paint work to repair golf ball dent and repaint air dam. I paid way to much, but in these parts, all I can find is junk.
I was able to combine all service records into one spreadsheet - I calculated the average time between oil changes at 2,600 miles - Mobil 1 the whole time.
Prior owner even put in new OEM A arms, and two new front rims because of front end vibration....that turned out to be an out of round Bridgestone from Tirerack...over $3000 total for this repair...
While the timing belt has been replaced twice (30K and 60K), the water pump is original. Not leaking, but potentially suspect.
Paint is perfect 9.5 of 10, interior is truly a 10. (Not sure what a true 10 is, but this car could define it) The car even got 2nd place in the last two concours events it entered....
Look forward to many fast and expensive years. The performance differential between the N.A. and Turbo is completely addictive.
