Default New Gauge Panel with Knock Counter

A while back Chris White offered his Front Panel Express gauge panel design so I snapped it up and came up with a design for my 951. Chris's outline and screw locations were dead on perfect.

I also decided to remove the inner unit of the Curtis knock counter and mount it in the panel along with a reset and I am real happy how that turned out.

The panel cost was $36 and you can download the design file here:

Lettering is engraved and filled. It was included in the design file and completed by Front Panel Express.

Now you guys did it. I am going to have to try and mimic this (I just want it out of CF).

Nice panel. Where did you get the knock counter?

Nice panel! Question, how did you configure the counter to read knock when running E85? Is it a stock knock unit?

Glad you like the base file! The front panel guys make a really nice product.

The hard choice has always been the location of the boost control and gauge. Anything on the far right will have the view blocked most of the time. The left side is the easiest to reach but its also the only location that never has the view blocked.

BTW – you can find a nicer looking reset switch! Start here - http://www.digikey.com/us/en/ph/test...1ad9csNR36FScD

I used the stock knock unit needed by the KLR. Wired it as many have, shown here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/4032788-post62.html

I added a Hobbs Switch from NAPA to allow shutting off counts until about 5 lbs of boost if desired.

Installed reset per JohnKoaWood as shown here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/6934818-post29.html

You can purchase the counter from Digi-Key here:

"Any of the 5-12 VDC offerings should work fine, the 12-48 VDC powered ones MAY not power on if your voltage from the alternator or battery drops, but 5-12 VDC should be fine!" - Per JohnKoaWood
