My 86 951 is dying after I hit full boost in any gear. It does't seem to do it if I don't hit WOT, but when I do and hit full boost, it hops and hestitates and eventually dies after a few minutes. It does this for a few days and then stops.

Any ideas? This is a very frustrating problem! Thanks for the help

 

Get a good boost gauge and see what the boost really is when this occurs, the computer might be seeing an over boost condition. Check all the vacuum/IC/boost plumbing for loose lines, splits and bad connections.

 

It doesn't happen immediately after hitting full boost, just a few minutes after driving hard.

Could a leak in the vacuum lines cause this?
