Well it's not the SAFC but I mounted my AVC-R under the radio. I am not familiar with the SAFC but if after you tune it there is a display setting that lets you see information about the car you don't normally have access to then I would consider putting it there. If once you are done tuning it becomes useless I would consider hiding it in the glove box or something like that. I used a piece of black acrylic to mount mine which seems to scratch easy so I might just change it to plastic if I can find a place to get a piece to cut down and fit there.

Looks good, is that the same dimensions as the SAFC? The SAFC controls the air/fuel ratio. So it may be adjusted from time to time. Glove box may be a good idea...

I don't know if they are the same dimensions. I never looked into SAFC at all. I'm sure if you find the Apexi web site they would have the dimensions on there.

Yes the cord comes out of the side right at the back of the unit. I cut the hole for the unit so it was a tight fit then once I put the AVC-R in from the back I caulked around it in the back to make sure it does not move. I also cut the acrylic to be a tight fit in the center console and I put caulk on the areas it touched behind it before I pushed it in.
