Yup, my car is totalled

I was rear ended pretty viciously (everyone is ok) by a lady that was not paying attention. I was hit in the rear so hard that the quarter panels are wrinkeld and the sunroof popped out.

In my quest to get what I can out of it from the insurance companies I'm asking if anyone has sold their 951 recently to please share with me the selling price by posting or PM.

Sad to see her go '87 in really great shape with 106k miles. Every record back to original window sticker. Diamond Blue Metallic paint. Really going to miss her....

Use the records you have to show value and what you have put in. Also do a quick search using AutoTempest.com to see Ebay, Craigslist, Autotrader, etc. pricing for similar 1987 cars at the moment.

Also go to Ebay completed listings for prices sold.

Also run the classifieds here and see what they are asking.

I did a quick search and based on the Turbo, mileage and condition, I see anywhere from $8000-15,000.

Sorry to hear about the car but glad to hear you are okay.

Get what you can from the insurance company, then demand the car in additon to the payment. Come back here and part it out!

Well, the 'worst' thing that could happen is people getting hurt. A car can always be replaced, but a life... So you have that to be thankful for at least.

If you did any modifications to the car and have the receipts collect them for your insurance company also as they may reimburse for those depending on how recent they were.

Thank you all for the kind replys and help!

Mickster especially, that was a great help, thank you!

buddy911t, sorry to hear of your situation as well! How did you like living with a 996? I'm looking at them now

And I'll keep everyone posted as to what happens with the valuation of the car by the insurance companies

I loved my 996 but have my eye on a black 997 if she's a total. Going to find out today which way it will go.

I'll see if I can't get some pics of it this weekend.. Honestly, it hardly looks damaged to an untrained eye
