Post purchased 87 951......hesitant starts sometimes

Hello all,
Last month i purchased a 87 951 w/ 80k 100% stock for 11,300. Car has new timing belt, water pump, and inspection.....sound like a reasonable deal to you? Car runs flawlessly for me and is a joy to drive. When i start the car cold (sitting overnight) sometimes it takes a couple of cranks more than what i like to turn over. Also smells like car is running a little rich, reading prior posts the fuel/air mixture comes up alot. In the next 6 months i plan on upgrading with a MAF, chips, higher or multiple spark ignition but want car running right before i do. Any suggestions on those would be great to. Thanks everyone

Sauerkraut - excellent name. I see you are in Philly. Do you start your 951 in the garage? Mine will stink up my barn pretty quikly - especially before the o2 sensor leans it out.

Check your vacuum connection at the fuel pressure regulator and damper . Also check the FPR and damper for a vacuum leak.
