Danno,

I currently have a k27/8 turbo, APE Stage II Chips, Profec B boost controller, Bosche 3 bar FPR and a Tial 46 mm wastegate. I used to own a Wolf 3D and just bought a Haltech E6K for my RX7 Turbo. I traded my Wolf 3D for an Apexi Super AFC and cash. I was considering putting the Super AFC on my 951 but decided to sell it and possibly go the Autothority Mass Air Flow with custom chips route. However, after reading about the success of the Link System I have a few questions.

A) You state the Link System is adjustable in 500 RPM points. What about the points in between two bands? Does the system use linear interpolation? The Wolf had the same 500 rpm resolution and I was finding dead spots throughout the rpm range. The Haltech I believe uses 125 rpm points and as such has a much higher resolution. Doesn't the Super AFC also use 500 rpm points? How is the Link system superior to this? One of your posts mentioned getting an "optional hand controller" to program the Link System. Is this included in the kit?

B) I assume your chips come burnt for a common set up to allow plug and play with minimal tinkering. But in my case it would appear there might be a fair bit of tinkering involved if I were to use the 26/8 maps as a base.

C) Knowing the equipment that I have what do you recommed I do? (ie: purchase your system with the chips for a k26/8 but without the FPR and Boost Enhancer. Purchase the hand controller/data logger. Install and get to a dyno to tune. Or perhaps wait until you get a K27/8 chipset available?)

Your answers will help me to make up my mind as to which way I will go.

Thanks,

Erik

Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone's questions. Hopefully, I've addressed them all in private emails or on the FAQ section of the GURU Racing website. If I've missed anyone, please feel free to send me a private email.

Customizing the fuel-map for a particular configuration (upgraded turbos, extra mods, etc.) turned out to be more popular than we anticipated. So I've uploaded a section on the website describing how the hand-held programmer works. We'll also be offering this unit on a rental basis for those who only need to do an initial or occasional set-up.

This week, I'll be working on the 951-specific installation and tuning manuals.

P.S. We got our 180k-mile test car up past 160mph+ on short spurt and it was still pulling strongly!!!

I can't answere everyones questions, but I can add my little bit.

I've been talking with Danno and Travis for a while about this great product. I have one set up on a customers car, its a 944 S2 with a super charger. Danno and Travis delivered to me a unit, (danno drove it down, many hours of driving), installed it, and set me up with a bse map. THe car started and idled, and was even diveable. Since then, I have been very impressed with the service from Guru Racing, they are working with me hand in hand, getting the car tuned, and we expect great HP numbers from this unit.

So far as I can tell, it doesn't matter if your running and NA, Super Charger, or Turbo...after market boost controller, large or small injectors...etc etc...the Guru's system is so completely tuneable, it makes life much easier for us tuner shops.

The fuel curve's totally tunable, so it shouldn't be hard to adjust for the K27. Don't need a dyno to tune, there's a lot of nice roads that Marc and I have used by the shop with my car... =)
