Question Optimoly Ht ?

Is this the same thing as Loctite?It says in the manuals to coat all bolts in the turbocharger area with this goop.Please enlighten me on this jargon.

I'm simply expanding on the previous old post because I ran into the same question as I reviewed the brake rotor/hub disassembly and reassembly instructions in the shop manual, and the answer posted above required a few extra steps of research. I imagine a few other "book shadetree mechanics" like myself will have the same question, so I'll take a minute to post what I found. Optimoly is an anti-sieze compound. You will find references to its use in the Porsche shop manual for assembling brake components (such as the rotor to the hub), turbo components, lugnuts, and probably exhaust components. Porsche stocks it in their parts dept. BMW manuals also reference Optimoly, but the word from other bulletin boards is that some BMW service centers in the U.S. just use Permatex anti-seize in its place.
