Default Info on 17" Turbo Twists

I have a line on a set of these locally and wanted some feedback.

He stated they are 17x7 and 17x8.5" and will fit late offset.

I am considering this because my 18's with thin tires have been bending..too often. I was also thinking this would be a better choice for touring/road trips.

It looks like the right tire combo (to stay with a 25" diameter) would be 245/40/17's and 225/45/17's. My current set up (285/30/18 and 245/35/18) are 10.1" wide and 8.4" wide vs. 8.4" and 8.0". I hope I wouldn't be disapointed with tire size since I'm used to...huge.

Here are some Hankooks AND CHEAP compared to my 18's! They appear to be a very soft and aggressive compound.

Feedback???

How much should I offer for the wheels if i decide to go for it??

Mine are 17 x 7.5 and 17 x 9 (for an '89 951), so a little wider.

Mine are 993 TT replica twists from Wheel Enhancement. For those wheels I use 225/45-17 and 255/40-17 tires.

Same here on Falcon FK 452's. The Falcon's have rim protectors, not sure what that is but I know, it's saved my rims on my Tercel, Lowered and running 460 inch pound springs on the Terk.

Once you go big it's just not the same going back to smaller? I wouldn't go with anything less than 9- feel safer to be able to use 265s. OTOH if you can get them for cheap like $400 for the set then go for it.

I bet these are the boxster twists - no the turbo twists. That is the common size for the boxster twist wheels.

agreed...I am mainly tempted so I have an extra set of wheels and tires. I would like to "rebuild" my CCW's with freshly polished lips and take the centers in to freshen up the anodizing.
