Thx Danno, I think I get the picture.

In fact what you say is: Decide how much HP you want, and where, Track and/or Road.

This determines flow and characteristics which decides on turbo. Then remove other restrictions like inputflow. Then offcourse injectors have be able to match this flow. Then finally the electronics have to take care of carefull mapping and timing.

And then many iterations <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" /> later you might get it right

Hey guys, What about that guy that just recently posted the topic on new true ball bearing turbos? He said some of those turbos are smaller than stock but make much more power and have less lag. Does anyone have any more info on that?

He's going to send me more info when they're ready. I guess they're testing it out now. I'd like to get some to test as well since the next product after the GURU-364 kit is the GURU-421!!! heh, heh...

Hmm, what I really want is RPM and datalogging on the turbo itself....

Danno,
So does this TO4B variant (S3) spool more quickly than the turbo in your 364 kit?

How about a 325 kit? I like the idea of more HP than stock AND faster spooling!!!

Does TurboCalc know how well our engines drive the compressor? i.e., is the 6PSI of boost @ 2k RPM real? Looking at dyno curves on the GURU site, the HP @ 2k RPM would be nearly double what your Stage2 MAP kit produces.

thanks
Gary

Had to make a decision.

Went with a Garrett K27/8. Has to be better than the Turbo the car came with...a hybrid K27 which was leaking badly.

I'll let you know what I think of this one!

The H3 will be a slow spooler on a 2.5L with an 8cm hotside. When it hits, it will hit hard but it is not good for low-end torque.

Great!

After I did some homework on the board...talking to people, including yourself...and reading the responses, I changed my parameters. It seems to me that these cars were designed for the application you described above. Just my opinion. Sure I'd like to eliminate that lag...but if I get rid of it then I can't have the hard rush of that Turbo. I decided I wasn't willing to sacrifice any of that for the low-end torque.

Or...maybe I still don't know enough!
Time will tell.

Wasn't the 2.5(The BOSS) that ran at Le Mans running with a huge Turbo? Not that I plan to run at Le Mans soon.

Thanks to all
