Mystery noise ?.
I've noticed what sounds like a atmospheric dump valve noise but quieter when changing gear at highish boost, this seemed to start after replacing the centre exhaust box with straight tube, so could it be wastegate noise I'm noticing or the standard BOV going bad ?.

Could be BOV but if you just made exhaust changes then it sounds like wastegate noise to me but hard to say without more details. So you simply cut out your cat and welded in a straight pipe? Did you change the routing for the wastegate pipe or is it all stock? Is the muffler stock?
If all you did was put a straight pipe in place of the cat that shouldn't have changed much as far as the wastegate sound goes. With a cat back exhaust added it may be more noticible.
Where do you notice the noise coming from the most?

Hi, No cat just middle silencer that I cut out and replaced with 1.2mm stainless tube, wastegate plumbing is stock, rear muffler straight thru, noise is hard to pinpoint from the cabin but if I had to guess I'd say wastegate area but I may be wrong.

Exhaust is stock except for the 3ft section I welded in and twin straight thru rear silencers, the noise is much quieter than an atmospheric BOV but a similar flutter sound, wastegate is standard so I guess it may be working quite hard.
