Belt Tension tool $$$$
I am replacing all the rollers and belts but why is it that you need a %$#@% $300++ tool to set the belt tension? Doesn't it use a spring to measure the force, must be made of gold.
My other quest to find a strong, affordable control arm lead me to this site. At 20% of the cost of the “Original Porsche Tool” and good user instructions to boot, I purchased one.

Has anyone used this tool? Comments?

beab951,
I haven't used the other tool. However, the Porsche tensioning tool can be rented I have read. A thread on this came up with the last 7-10 days tops on either this of the 924/944/951/968 forum. A communal Rennlist tool was also mentioned.
And, why does it cost $300 - 400? Because it's a Porsche <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />
Mike "wanting to reverse engineer that tool and sell it for $69.95 + I'll throw in a Ginso (sp?) knife or Popiel Pocket Fisherman"
P.S. My PCA region "owns" one of these for our club members. Check with your region tech guy if you belong.
