Post FOUND OUT, exactly what I have

I spent a good majority of an hour on the phone w/ 4 companies...

I bought this turbo from SFR.

My wheel measures </font>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">exducers - 3"</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">INDUCER - 2.310ish</font></li>
<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">it's difficult to measure the inducer, kinda accuratelyhere are the methods I used to measure the inducer </font>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">caliper'd it from corner to corner roughly</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">measured the ID of the inlet and subtracted the gap to the inducer</font></li>
<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">the inducer is CLEARLY in the 2.300 area. +/- 20 thou.
With a B housing as people on this board tell me this is.... it's either a Super H or a 60-1 ( if the 60-1 can use the same housing.... ) i do know that 60-1's use a B housing I understand that they hav "1 more fin" on the wheel than other compressors....
how many fins would that mean for a 60-1? I have 7 fins
BUT

WHAT I ordered
</font>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">To4e</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">54 trim</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">#6hotside</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">stage III turbine</font></li>
<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">WHat I got (love? j/k)
</font>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">A B housing....</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">a compressor wheel that flows more air than a 54 trim</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">and I talked to a guy that is fimilular w/ Turbo tim's ordering habits....he can't remember TIM EVER ordering a #6 or a #10...., but my housing is FOR SURE a #6. <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">I was told by two sources that a Super H will flow 53lbs/ minute. It looks like abetter map than my 54 trim across the board.
I would seriously like to get this over w/ and know what I bought... I cause you can order anything you want, but you really dont know what you'll get <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
SO, i would really appreciate it if somebody could tell me how many fins a 60-1 has.

"Luke, step away from the turbo..."

Yes, and put your hands up and back slowwwwly away making no sudden movements. Do not break eye-contact and no one will get hurt... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I have a 60-1 HIFI it appears only the -1 series turbos have 14fins

T4 12 fins.

<img src="http://store4.yimg.com/I/cheapturbo_1734_328046" alt=" - " />

60-1 - 14 fins

<img src="http://members.rennlist.com/luke/z12.jpg" alt=" - " />

SO i ordered a turbo that could flow 45lbs/minute and got a beast

Am I the only 60-1 w/ a #6?

Your turbo inlet appears to have gone dark.

I have the same unit with a #8 hotside and BB. If the !@#$% site would let me upload, I would show you a picture. Case is just like yours, you should find a 60-1 stamp on the outlet tube... were the clamp would go. I was also looking to get a different turbo about the same time you ordered yours, but after a long wait due to vendor supply issues, I was "upgraded"...and I agreed to it. Sounds like it is working for you, it works for me.

Here is the MicroSoft error..I love these.

Sounds similar to mine except I am using the #8 hotside. I will admit, my turbo pulls like you will not believe.

My wheel measures

exducers - 3"

You mean your major is 3" right;^)

INDUCER - 2.310ish

it's difficult to measure the inducer, kinda accuratelyhere are the methods I used to measure the inducer

caliper'd it from corner to corner roughly
measured the ID of the inlet and subtracted the gap to the inducer

the inducer is CLEARLY in the 2.300 area. +/- 20 thou.
With a B housing as people on this board tell me this is.... it's either a Super H or a 60-1 ( if the 60-1 can use the same
housing.... ) i do know that 60-1's use a B housing I understand that they hav "1 more fin" on the wheel than other
compressors....

60-1 hi-fi uses the B housing. A true 60-1 comes in its own housing that is simliar to the T series housing.

how many fins would that mean for a 60-1? I have 7 fins
BUT

WHAT I ordered

To4e
54 trim
#6hotside
stage III turbine

WHat I got (love? j/k)

A B housing....
a compressor wheel that flows more air than a 54 trim

I ordered an E54 wheel which normally comes in a TO4E housing but I had it put in the TO4B housing for you. You might have gotten an upgrade because of the delays we had with your turbo. I can tell you which wheel you got when I get to the shop.

and I talked to a guy that is fimilular w/ Turbo tim's ordering habits....he can't remember TIM EVER ordering a #6 or a
#10...., but my housing is FOR SURE a #6.

This is because the person I ordered the turbo from no longer works at Turbonetics.I dont always use Turbonetics for our turbos anymore.We have a couple of suppliers so if Turbonetics cant get an order out to us in a timely manner then we go to another shop that can. No more long waits on turbos! Thank God.

It is not a turbonetics casting and it is identical to my other #6. So i am the
rare bird w/ the #6 and it sure does the job great.

It is a 6cm KKK housing that I supplied to you free of charge.

I was told by two sources that a Super H will flow 53lbs/ minute. It looks like abetter map than my 54 trim across the board.
I would seriously like to get this over w/ and know what I bought... I cause you can order anything you want, but you really
dont know what you'll get
SO, i would really appreciate it if somebody could tell me how many fins a 60-1 has.

7 larger blades.7 smaller blades

I'd really be interested in seeing a dyno chart for this turbo with a #6 hothouse.

andy,

the one I have SUCKS, because at the time, I was unaware that the toulene in my tank was throwing off the WB O2 sensor. I'll have a couple good ones in 2.5 weeks.

If i'm right, I should see 320ish @ 18psi with a safe mixture
