well i don't know about peter morgan's book, but the chart i saw in the dealers that said '87 944 Turbo S was a factory chart. and yes i'm aware that this contradicts all the conventional wisdom on the subject.
btw, that was what the guy said, that it had no emissions control and that was why it was more powerful. i thought to check the VIN to find out if it was really an '88 or an '89 and he for some reason has the build date wrong.

There was also during that time, the standard non-s available which did have the lower Hp engine. That's obviously what you have.
Randy, the bigger brakes were also part of the M030 package (along with the Koni's, thicker roll-bars etc.)

I would like to correct your assertion about 350 ft/lbs. The exact wording in the book is:
1986 ROW 944T is 330 NM@rpm which stands for Newton-meters NOT lb ft. The equivalent in lb/ft is indeed around 243 as you mentionned.

Friend of mine has an '88, but it is 220 hp, not 250.

Except 220 hp was made MY 88 as well, as 951S 250 hp.
Friend of mine has an '88, but it is 220 hp, not 250.
