Post Whats the white thing under the gas pedal?

So what is the white **** that is under the gas pedal?

I know that it stops the gas pedal from going all the way to the floor, but it is adjustable and I was just wondering what purpose the adjustability serves?

Thanks

It is to keep the excess fource of your foot on the petal from streaching or brakeing the throttle cable.

i'll give it a shot. could it be some kind of limiter? most vehicles i work on have it on. it really stops those who have a lead foot from going all the way.
it may also be to stop the cable from pulling too hard and break the throttle body cam and it's components from over extension.
