Tried search already. Does anyone know which way the drain valve is closed?

Is it when showing the most threads and the wing nut type at the bottom or the other way with the least threads showing and turned toward the bottom of the can?

I've lost the instructions and appreciate any help rennlisters can provide. Thanks!

 

Threads should be fully exposed for it to be closed.
