Default Max size spacers for a 951?

Whats the maximum size of spacer that i can use on my 1986 951? My car is early offset ET23 and i am running the original 16" Turbo teledials. The wheels seem too far under the body of the car without spacers.

I am running 205 and 225 tyres.

Can i fit 21mm spacers on the rear without the tyres sticking too far out?

Oh, and i want to run 245/45 as advised on this forum at some point, so will these stick out if i run with 21mm spacers?

I'm not sure if I understand the question... If you're currently running early offset wheels on an early offset suspension, take out a ruler, measure 21mm from the edge of the tire, and see it it sticks out.

Of course, if you're running a non-stock offset rim, then you'll have to do some math to figure out what spacer thickness you need. E.g. if the rim offset is 10mm greater, you need a 10mm spacer to have the outside edge of the tire at the same place.

I say go with a smaller spacer, like 7 or 8 mm, to see if you can get the look you want w/out spending too much $$$.

Also, the 245/45/16 is becoming very elusive.

You have to becareful my PO had rather large rear spacers and when you track the car there's just a not so nice vibration. That's why i'm just going widerwheels to get away from using the spacers...IMO

Use washers until you like the way it looks, then measure the stack of washers to determine the desired spacer. Don't forget to order longer studs, unless you're using an "adapter" type spacer.
