Post speedo not working

my speedometer has stopped working!! it has been playing up for a while, i would have to drive a couple of hundred yards before it would jump up to the speed i was doing, but has now stopped working completely, has anyone else experienced a problem like this?

You may need to pull out the console and check the wiring in the back. Im not sure but you may be able to check the cables from under the dash. It has been a while since I have done this so you may or may not be able to. If you have to pull the console, it isnt a hard job.

hmm thats kind of what i was expecting but i was hoping that maybe there was some other solution, i dont really fancy ripping all that out and it never goes back in the same, you always end up with rattles and noises from it that you never had before!!

Check the speedo pickup plug in the trany, it might be loose.
