320rwhp and powershifts will kill the cup clutch using the stock pressure plate. At around 400rwhp, the stock setup will slip and destroy the clutch plate on full throttle. Don't ask me how I know .

Rage what kind of clutch do you use? Or anyone with 400+HP......... This always seems to be an issue, I had a centerforce dual friction and had no problems whatsoever.

So, up to 350 whp with out slicks and power shifting, the clutch can handle it? Is the pressure plate the weak point?

I guess, anyone that is really interested in 0-60 or 1/4 miles, just invest in an upgraded clutch.

Yes, the pressure plate is the weak point! I'm using the cup clutch with the huntley/kennedy engineering 3800lb pressure plate.

How much stiffer is the Cup clutch with an uprated pressure plate, I mean force at the pedal? Is the bite of the clutch more severe/shorter as well??

The F1 cars were also running about 90% Toulene.

I was wondering when this additive would come up. It always seems too.

I wonder what the key is to keeping the head screwed on it with that amount of boost? maybe the correct A/F is more important than the actual boost pressure.

I Think the A/F has a lot to do with it, but I do think that there has to be a limit to how much boost you can run.

Apparently this 2.0 engine was capable of more, but for reliability they detuned it.
I would love to talk to the guys that built this engine to find out how they achieved these numbers and keep it glued together.
I am sure the same technology could be applied to almost any 4 cylinder engine, but at what point does said engine no longer become the brand that built the original.
So many parts are changed that it really is only the block and head castings that are original.
