Question RPM Problem

I am experiencing an unusual serge in rpm and a high idle. My idle is continually staying at 2000rpm with it occasionally dropping to a normal 1000 rpm idle range.

When I let off the gas and coast, letting the revs slowly drop, as It hits 2100rpm to 1900rpm the car bucks back and forth violently. Either side of that 200rpm range the car runs very smooth.

The same thing happens under acceleration, in the same 200rpm range, but not nearly as bad as coming of the gas.

Could this be a vacume leak???

Any suggestions and help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

I guess you could say rhythmically....... it does have the same feel to it each time.

The weird thing is this morning I get in the car and it did not do it at all........ the only thing different from yesterday (and previous days) is that it is about 10f cooler!!!

Do you think something heat related could be causing this???

Thanks,
Paul
