Due to the horrible weather we had over here, I was unable to do anything this weekend. How can I test the pressure of the system just to make sure the pump isn't gone? I think the problem I have is either the water pump or the thermostat, or both. I want ot check the water pump first.

I turned on the car today and it started right up. So is my HG still blown? Some people told me that the car wouldn't start if I blew the HG because of the coolant. My exhaust doesn't smell sweet either. I was wondering, can this problem be as easy as a bad water pump relay?

My car does the same thing!
In stop and go traffic it gets overheatead after a while. But driving on the highway is just fine.

I found out that the left fan (viewing from inside the car) never comes on. Not when it's hot and not when I start the AC compressor.
Could this be because of a faulty thermostat or is it simply my fan motor that is broken?

I don't know, I'll check for that in my car too. Thanks.

The 2nd fan not coming on when stopped can cause the temps to climb. It will be the fan motor itself more than likely. Also check the circuit.

I just checked it recently and it seems that it's the thermostat. The coolant is not circulating properly and it heats up around the water pump. The engine is cool, but the fans go on full force. When I touched around the water pump, it was like Fire. Seems to be a thermostat problem. Not letting the water circulate and it's heating up in one spot. NOw, it could also be the water pump not giving any pressure, and that's why its heating up. I'll try and see if it's the water pump too. Thanks for all of the replies guys.

What is the correct sequence of the seals for the thermostat?
