Default Disconnected torque tube.. dropped engine. Loose metal sleeve in bellhousing??

I dropped the mortor for the first time. I diconnected the torque tube from the bellhousing and dropped the motor. There is a metal sleeve that is loose inside the bellhousing. Is this supposed to be loose inside the bellhousing or does it go around part of the torque tube when I reattach the torque tube to the motor?

Are you talking about the release guide sleeve? This part should be bolted to the bellhousing where the input shaft slides in. Its possible it is so worn out that it was broken.

Never done a clutch before so not sure but searching on here for throwout guide it looks like that is what it could be. Fortunately the motor that is going back in the car has a new clutch and bell housing already bolted up.
