Once you've crossed that minimum octane level (for a given compression ratio, timing and boost if any), then anything higher won't buy you anything.

So if 91 octane prevents detonation, then running 94/100/etc won't give any more.

There's four stations within 20 miles of my house that have the 100-octane fuel. I haven't been to any of the stations yet - I found them via the 76.com search engine.
When I get my car back together, I'll be stoppin buy though!!! ...Put the smack down on the ricers down here in riceville. <img border="0" alt="[burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

I guess my point was that it can only help not hurt.

Silverbullet:

There is a small station next to the southern state parkway entrance/exit in malverne. Exit 17 I believe. They sell 100 and 105 at a hefty price. I've never actually purchased gas from them but I know a Buick GN driver who does.

In most states out here, we can't get anything above 91 octane.

No Sunoco here, but I swear by BP's Amoco Ultimate 93 octane...and I've found that Speedway's 93 octane is garbage.
