Default Need WHOLE roof skin. No sunroof cutout

Anyone have a full roof skin they could sell me? I need one that is a sunroof delete. Lindsey no longer sells the fiberglass one. I have no desire to make a new mold! I will if I have to. BUT.. I thought I'd post up here and see if anyone has one lying around that can finally accept they arent going to do anything with? LOL.

I've tried Junk yards and they are all insane, and have no idea what I am talking about.. Time is short. Trying here. -- again. just a little more desperate this time since My backup source is no longer selling the fiber roofs.

Thx.

Bruce.

Lart,

I'm interested in the sunroof skins.

How do they attach to the body? Are there recommended brackets or does it require some fabrication?

I hope we are talking about the same sunroof skin which is the sunroof without inner liner correct?

NO.. !!!!!! if it were ONLY the sunroof skin.. I need a WHOLE ROOF in fiberglass. one that does not have a hole cut out for the sunroof. If it were only the sunroof skin, GT racing would be my alternative. But they only make the sunroof delete, not the WHOLE ROOF. LOL. my caps are for clarity, not yelling. well, except the NO !!!! that was yelling..

I live in Houston, and yes.. Shipping has become quite expensive.. do you have a whole roof aribop? Depending on your price, I would still consider shipping costs.

I didn't ask if they had the whole roof. Were you referring to the sunroof delete skin or a whole roof? because if you think he might have the whole roof, i will certainly waste a call or two if there's a chance.

Bruce, you can still buy a brand new one from the factory believe it or not. Think you should be able to find one from a wrecked 944. That's what we used. I'm not so sure I'd want a f/g roof...just in case.

Patrick, do you have any more pictures of the new roof skin going on? I had been hoping to use one from a 924, but I've read both that it will and won't work.

Have you tried DC Auto? They usually have a fairly decent selection of Porsche parts.

I think we're talking about the same. I'm looking to save weight and I'm assuming what you have can directly replace the sunroof. I understand that it won't be functional but also curious about how it can be attached.

I have a whole sunroof delete roof but it is original and steel, not fiberglass. PM me if you want to explore this option.

Sorry Charlie I don't. Not sure if a 924 one is the same? Someone will know around here though.

In terms of f/g vs steel, I don't think you will save that much in weight steel vs f/glass. My feeling was that if in the case of a roll over I'd rather some steel over my head than the f/g that could shatter/splinter. Don't have any real proof. More just a gut feeling.

Chris, it's indeed a shame that we all don't drive on the same side of the road. I'd even contemplate driving on the wrong side like you guys if it meant we could import cars from the U.S. which are 2-3 times cheaper than we pay. Swine Govt. It would also have saved me a bundle building a trackcar as I could have bought one of the good ones that come up for sale on a semi regular basis.
