1987 944 turbo starter diagram
Does anyone have a diagram of how the starter gets set-up? I took my old starter off and forget how to install.

All the wires connect to the solenoid.. 2 large lugs to the large stud, one small (red/white stripe IIRC) to the smaller stud on the solenoid (not the mounting stud for the heat shield..)
Heat shield gets installed between the starter and downpipe.. one bolt of the torque tube holds the heat shield in place, as well as one (or is it two) studs on the starter.
Starter mounts using one bolt from the front of the bellhousing, other one from rear of the starter.

there is really only one way it goes on... what have you done? Are you just attaching it to the flywheel? Just line up the teeth and put the two bolts, on each side, in. Clarks-garage.com is your friend.
