Pauer Tuning has the best prices new.
Look for a JGS 40mm on Nissan forums...they go pretty cheap and are very nice. They are the same "footprint" as Tials so the adapters work.

I might be trying another group buy on adapters soon after my failed a year or so ago. Stay tuned...

onspeed, would you be willing to take some pictures and possibly some measurements of those plates for me before they are sold? If any one else would be willing to do the same, I would greatly appreciate it. $250 is expensive for what it is...

I just bought a TiAL MVR (44mm Vband flanged) for my turbo, paid $350 complete from TiAL, the MVS (38mm V band flanged) is in the $275 range New from TiAL IIRC... since april they are shipping with all fittings, plugs, springs, flanges, and clamps in one box.. same price!

The new ones (MV line) are MUCH smaller than their predecessors (my MVR is 4.1 inches tall), however they do require the flanges to be welded to the exsisting WG pipes.. so I can understand they arent for everyone!

Cig pack is for scale!

The Tial 38 with adapter plates from Pauer is the cheapest like stated before. I just got one from him and its packaged beautifully and arrived fast. Comes with hardware, its all safety wired, and the adapter plates are already on the wg for you. After the research I did it was the best way to go for bolt up and I highly recommend buying from Pauer.

So you want to blatantly copy someone's work for something that takes about 10 minutes to draw up if you have a stock and tial wastegate sitting side by side?

I've already got the drawings and made my own, so I know it's easy to do, and yes cheaper.

JGS 40mm (planning on safety wire, just haven't gotten the hardware in yet but wanted to mock it up)

That one looks a little crude compared to the Tial wastegates. With no heat dissipation fins I would not think that will last long at the track….

Compared to the regular Tial 38, are you talking about the two fins on the throat? Or where you referencing the MV?

I don't have any experience with it yet, but I'm sure it'll work just fine for my street car. I have used Tials before. Lots of people use them in the 240SX, Camaro, Mustang world with great results.

Could be fine on a street car – it just looks like there was not much consideration in heat dissipation in the design. There are two areas that are heat sensitive – the valve needs to be able to dissipate heat – this is mostly done though the valve seat when the valve is closed. The cooler the body the faster the heat can be dissipated through the valve seat. The other is the diaphragm in the upper body. Even though the diagrams are usually made of a material that is heat resistant its not a good idea to bake them!

The ‘chunkiness’ of the design of the wastegate in the earlier picture is not good for heat dissipation.

I could understand it if the Tials were $1k…but to save $100 it does not make a lot of seems to cut corners. I have been through the ‘cheaper’ wastegates back in the “Rayjay” days. I got tired of replacing warped valves.

Advise to the OP, search non-Porsche forums too for Tials, they go for cheaper (make sure it's legit). Can't complain though, since I sold my Tial for $50-75 more here than I would've gotten elsewhere. This was a few years ago though, so maybe prices here have gotten more in line with the rest of the car world.
