Post suspension..track set up

Whats a good combo for the front/rear of an 86 951 with a nice lowered stance, with the intention of being best bang for the buck. I dont mind a harsh ride as long as the suspension is dialed in and feels like a sports car. stock this car is just way to soft for me, I rather enjoy a stiff setup car.
I dont have thousands to invest in this though...
any input appreciated!

Sam,
I have similar constraints in regards to my 951 upgrades (not thousands to spend). The coilover conv. kit from Paragon is $240.00 (I think) and will give you the ability to adjust the ride height and select spring rates from #200 to whatever. Upgrading the torsion bars isn't expensive,(if you do it yourself)$200.00-$300.00.
These options work well if your car has the Koni adjustables on it. Another option for the rear is the 968 M030 coilovers that are designed to work in conjunction with the stock torsion bars, about $650.00. Throw a strut tower brace on ($169.00) and you're ready to rock! Be sure to match spring rates appropriately front to rear, but I imagine you're aware of that.

I believe that's what I paid for my Cambermeister bar from Paragon, however I just checked their site and it's listed for $199.00. The bar I have is different than the one pictured. Mine is a box section crossbar welded to the "hat" on one end. Very beefy. I'll check my receipts when I get home. I apologize if I've mislead you about the price.

Sam, here's a web page that might really be useful in making your decision-<a href="http://dialspace.dial.pipex.com/town/gateway/d/admc18/944t/suspension.htm#Torsion%20bars%20" target="_blank">Suspension</a> <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />
