thats because you didnt have a boost cotroller. If you did, you would just have it set to make the same boost by the time it was at the manifold, past whatever restrictions in the system anyway.

My point was the boost will be less after all the restrictions and that going to or near the intake would give more accurate boost to the eng.

yes, a slightly more accurate psi figure, but slightly more prone to spiking due to the fact that it gets the signal from the turbo a little later on initial spool up, but would make a good increace in boost across the board at part throttle, and possibly make for a little quicker spool in some conditions, but just a lot more work from the turbo, esp a worn stock k26, when it would usually be near idle. You will also want a boost controller between the wastegate and the manifold because 30+ psi of vaccume pressure on the stock wastegate diaphram could cause it a quick death.
