Justin, you will LOVE the power - only car I've ever owned where it felt like the accelleration could outrun the lights!!! Hence, IceShark full boat lighting kit is going in any day now.

I was up late checking things out last night. I think my hood is actually the heavy steel one without the insulation... it just seemed really light because the lifts actually WORK!
This is torture haveing to just let it keep warm in the garage while its -20°C and snowing outside (imagine the intercooler temps here in Edmonton). Thanks for the suggestions on the stickers, I'm going to get back to peeling them tonight. I'll leave the rennlist sticker though.
Does anybody know anything about this Dynomax exhaust? Also the maintenance history says it has Superchips, what are these and where might I find more info on them? I can't get over how much bigger the brakes are than my 944, what are the dimensions of the M030 rotors? I also see a lot of turbo S owners have lowered the car, how is this done in the rear?
Sorry for the stack of questions, but what better place to ask?

Turbo S stock hoods are definately steel - unless Porsche invented a new kind of aluminum that magnets stick to.
As for brake rotors: 12.0 inch vented discs in front, 11.8 inch vented disks in back. My car (which was built for the US market) also has ABS and dual airbags. Does this differ from the cars imported to Canada? From your pics it appears the Canadian cars didn't have airbags. I'm curious why the differences? Any ideas out there?

Canadian cars came sans airbags, although they were optional. Personally, I like the fact that my car (purchsed in Vancouver BC, in 1989) doesn't have airbags since I like my ribs and internal organs the way they are. ABS was standard on all 88 S's and 89-90 951's. I also noticed a split rear seat (the part that folds down) on a US car I looked at - does anyone have/know about this??

Hi, and congrats on your new p-car.
My car used to have Superchips, before my educated friend warned me, that the engine runs dangerously lean on high rpm with these superchips. And he introduced Guru Racing to me.
Currently I'm running with their Chip Upgrade Kit, and it is a world of difference !
About the back seat, mine 951 is a '90 US specs, and doesn't have split rear seat, thought I have seen a picture of that kinda back seat
BTW, it's snowy and below zero here in Finland as well, and I just came back drivin my 951 sweetheart...

Like Gregory, I have a US '88 944 Turbo S, Silver Rose with Welmeister Chips. My rear seats have split seat backs, rendered unusable due to the combination of Sparco seats mounted directly to the floor against the front of the rear seats for additional leg and head room, and my harness bar jutting out over the rear seat backs. Thought about pulling the rear seats out, but heard it wouldn't save much weight (7lbs?) and my dog fits nicely in the back seats.

Justin:
Congrats on the car. Strangely enough, I went out to Edmonton to buy my 89 951 in July of 2001. Couldn't find one in Ontario or Quebec that hadn't been salvaged/badly modified/patched together etc.
You're gonna love this car!
