Post smokey exhaust

Last night I had a little race off the lights with an MG F (not sure if you have them in the States?) but when I gave it some throttle I noticed a lot of smoke from the exhaust in first and second (backed off in third). When I floored it again a few hundred yards down the road there was no smoke.

Is this oil getting pass the turbo oil seals and being cleared out when I floor it? The engine was fully rebuilt 20K miles ago with a full head rebuild so I dont suspect this at the moment...

IIRC, the FPR may be a possibility (fuel pressure regulator).

Do you have the Haynes manual? I think there's a FPR check procedure outlined in there.

Hmmm, I have the manual but also had a new FPR fitted a short time ago and the smoke was around before then. Just that it seemed particularly bad/embarassing last night!
