Superman,

The inline engine looks good but the handling it is not so good with the inline engines...
But it seems that you are in very good way!

Super,

I E-mailed you privately awhile back about the brake conversion. I can't seem to find on your site the help I need. Maybee I'm just not looking hard enough in the right places. I really need more stoping power. I have a 62 IRS VW pan, with a fiberglass kit body. My dad has supervised working the motor to about ~220-240hp. With the car weighing in at ~1700lbs, That's a pretty good power to weight ratio! The problem is that I have stock drums, and tires. So I'd like to find out if a torsion front end VW (non-super) will accept 924/944/etc... disks/wheels and offsets? Your knowledge base is INCREDIBLE! But all I could find on the site was Porsche to super beetle brake swaps. Is there sufficient differences between the super and the regular beetle to prevent me from doing the conversion? Thanks for posting here. I love VW's and Porsches alike. Conversions are one of my hobbies so to speak but I have not got 7 years of research to back me up as you mentioned that you do. I also own a 944 that has a 968 powerplant and tranny. It is fast. But the VW is me and my fathers little project, and with that power to weight ratio it would simply obliterate my porsche and many other cars at a drag strip if I could figure out how to put enough rubber on it and had the brake surface to actually stop the car. Not much point in putting a five point harness on a one way rocket.

Wow, this reminds of the website I found years ago where a guy put a 3-cylinder Geo Metro engine in the back of an old 911. Complete with radiator and cooling fans too!

Anyone know the website I'm talking about? I can't find it anywhere...

How did this get retitled "History of Blah, blah, blah?"

This was a thread about brake conversions when I posted.

What was the point of the title change? Are you trying to look like a professor???

Exclamation

I changed the title because brakes were little talked about but the history was. I just changed the title again and really wish I could delete the whole topic. I will keep changing the title or any text for the next who comes along with a comment...

man it's hard to keep everyone happy!
