New member & VIN question
Just to introduce myself - I have been lurking on this forum in the messageboard for a while now. Finally made the step to register after buying a 951 last week. It's in pretty good shape, requiring some catching up in terms of maintanence - but in good shape otherwise. Upgraded by previous owners to MY90 front and 968 Cup wheels, mirrors and rear wing.
First question I have is only of interest for the real VIN geeks...
From what I understand a very limited number of MY85 951s were built - 178 in total. These cars are not even listed in many production overview tables and no mention is made of specific VINs for these cars...where the MY86 cars are listed - with a total of 10273 built and VINs starting from Gxxx001 onwards.
Now for the question...how would you be able to identify a MY85 951? Would it have an early 95GNxxxxx VIN or possibly a 95FNxxxxx VIN (although this is not mentioned on any 951 production overviews I have seen)?

Nice one! I love the 968 mirrors and wing...
I think model year '85 would have the F vin; my car was delivered in '85 too, and it's got the G vin.
