Post 951 swapped with 928 engine?

I was just curious if anyone had ever heard of someone transplanting a 928 motor into a 951? If so, what went into it and did it work out? Someone once told me that it had been done w/ a chevy 350, but thats outrageous to me, if someone kept it all porsche I could see nothing wrong with it. Sounds like it would be a worth while venture if one had a 951 w/out a motor in it. Seems like a great way to make a ton of power.

Not sure how this would be done. I was under the impression that the 944 series 4 cylinders were basically 928 engines chopped in half. I could be wrong.

I recall a few months back, someone posted picts and a web site of exactly that. Try a search on the 944 and 951 boards.

I had no luck with the search. If anyone knows of this and has any pics or a web adress, that would be great, thanks.

Piece of cake! Here it is:

Notice that in stock trim, the 928 V8 would rub both strut towers in a 951.

And some threads on V8 conversions:
