I'm having an intermittent problem w/ my antilock on my '89 944S2 (there seems to be a little more action in the 951 chat area so I'm asking here...)
Occasionally my anti-lock 'warning' light will come on, it seems to happen when I hit a small bump. It happens about once every 1/2 hour or so of driving. It seems that when the light is on the antilock is no longer functioning (a bad thing when it happens during an autocross run). Anybody have experience w/ this? Turning off the car and restarting it seems to reset the system and the antilock works fine, for a while...

Check your plugs on the ABS sensors, one is probably loose. Also check the grounds on the suspension, not sure if the ABS uses the grounds from the pad sensors or not. Good luck

Good call Andy; one of the front ABS ground wires was loose, the 10mm nut on the strut was about 1/2way backed off. That seems like the likely cause.

Well, it didn't even make it to the auto-x track (40min drive) before it came on again. It was OK for all my runs, except the last two 'fun runs' where I drove a bit more aggressively, for those the antilock light came on again.

Try cleaning the terminal and the chassis were the ground connects. If it was loose, it needs a good cleaning before it is attached again.
